What to Expect

Welcome! If you have never been seen by a chiropractor, you may have some questions or reservations about what you will experience. If you have been seen by a chiropractor in the past, we may be a little different than what you expect.

First Visit

Wear comfortable fitting clothing. This visit will last about one hour. We gather important information to see if you are a good candidate for chiropractic care. If this first visit is an emergency, you may receive necessary treatment.

Brief Paperwork

Upon entering the office, we have some brief paperwork for you to fill out. Click here to print out our New Patient Forms. Simply complete and bring them with you on your initial visit to save time. The paperwork provides us with general information about yourself and your condition.

Consultation

Once the paperwork has been completed, you will have a consultation with the doctor to discuss your health-related problems and concerns, as well as potential treatment options.

History & Examination

We obtain a thorough history of your condition and the nature of the problem. You will experience a comprehensive spinal exam and examination of any extremity conditions that might be contributing to your complaint. Questions will be asked about your everyday physical activities including your job, sports, and recreation in an attempt to further understand how the condition or injury is affecting you.

X-ray or Imaging Studies

Your specific condition may require us to take spinal imaging (x-ray or MRI studies) that give us additional information about your spine and whether it is the kind of condition we can effectively and safely treat.

Same Day Treatment

In emergencies, once we finish the examination and all appropriate studies, patients may be provided their first treatment. This may include spinal adjustments or physical therapies, or soft tissue therapies. At the end of this appointment you will be given advice for home remedies in an attempt to assist you until your next visit.

Schedule Your Next Appointment

We will set you up for a convenient appointment time for your follow-up visit to review your exam findings and recommend a treatment plan. Treatment options for your condition will also be discussed during this time. We will clearly describe the number of sessions necessary and expected duration of the plan. We will advise you of what to expect of your treatment including the risks and benefits of chiropractic adjustments. We will answer all your questions about costs and procedures so your understanding is clear and we get your approval to proceed.
